Story Overview
In this 3D zombie game "Rise of the Undead", players step into the role of a courageous journalist determined to deliver the most dangerous media story in world history. Set in a post-apocalyptic city overrun by undead zombies, the player must navigate through the treacherous disowned streets, surviving by eliminating hordes of zombies along the way. As they venture deeper into the city, their objective is to uncover the key to the safe zone and report on the state of this isolated urban nightmare.
Prepare for a thrilling, action-packed journey where survival and journalism intertwine in a race against time. The game will be developed using Maya and Unreal Engine 5.
Gameplay
The gameplay will be a combination of survival and action.
The player will have to fight off zombies using various weapons in order to survive, and find a key to get inside the safe zone.
Level Design
The level design will be an open-world environment with various buildings, streets, and alleys for the player to explore. The city will be designed to look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland with destroyed buildings, abandoned cars, and debris scattered throughout the environment.
Mechanics
The game mechanics will include combat and exploration. The player will have access to various weapons such as guns, melee weapons, and explosives. The player will also have to manage their resources (such as health, ammunition, and food) and be able to craft to build new weapons and tools using resources found in the environment, however, both of these are subject to how much time I have and also learning how to do it so may not be included in this game and be for further development.
Art Style
The art style will be stylized with a dark and gritty tone and will resemble a cross between Dead Island and Fortnite. The environment will be designed to look like a post-apocalyptic city with a lot of detail put into the destruction of buildings and other structures.
Target Audience
The target audience for this game is players who enjoy survival games with action elements but will be set at the video standards council rate of PEGI 12 for frequent scenes of mild violence. This is the same rating as Fortnite in the UK.
The idea behind the project was chosen by the audience, along with class members and gaming friends as they expressed interest in it. During the development, I’ll keep asking them what they like or don’t like about the progress and can adapt it as I go through the development. I will also get gamers to test my prototype to gain feedback and adjust as I feel necessary.
Platform
The game will be developed for PC initially for demo, then PC and consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation.
Research
For my influences and research, it will come from a number of media such as games including Dead Island and Fortnite, TV series like The Walking Dead, and look into the history of zombies and how they have been portrayed in popular culture. This will help me understand them better and make them as realistic and engaging as possible in the game.

In conclusion, this 3D zombie game level is designed to provide players with an immersive survival experience in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. With its combination of survival mechanics, action-packed gameplay, and stylized art style.
During the development, if I’m stuck or unsure with a decision I can ask the audience, colleagues or friends. For the evaluation of my work, I will turn towards the audience and through them determine if it was successful or not.
